About Lakeshore Bible School and Fellowship

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to provide for our community a place to learn about the Bible and the Christian Faith, free of charge. We seek to help those who follow Christ from all denominational backgrounds to expand their knowledge of the Bible and to go deeper in their faith through learning.

LBSF IS NOT A CHURCH. We do not provide many of the most important aspects of church life, such as accountability to church leadership, deep relationships with fellow church members, opportunities to serve the Body of Christ, and a place to invest time, energy, and resources. LBSF seeks to serve in partnership with area churches and encourages students who do not have a home church to find one and grow in that local body.
Our Mission

Our mission is to provide for our community a place where the Bible is taught accurately, honorably, and thoroughly. Our courses and curriculum come from an evangelical Christian perspective rooted in the orthodox teachings of the Church as explained and defined in the Bible and consistently taught by the majority of the Church throughout Church history.

We do not teach from a particular denominational perspective, but are thoroughly committed to staying lazer focused on the Bible itself and all relevant biblical material when we offer a Bible or theology course.
Our students learn the Bible by carefully examining the original context, culture, and languages, as well as considering how specific passages or doctrines have been understood throughout Christian history
Our Core Beliefs

The most basic summary of our core beliefs are well represented by the Apostles' Creed:
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
